Sales & Marketing Support Specialist

Reporting to: Office Manager

Overview of job function

Key Duties

  • Product Support / Technical Help for the office & Account Managers
  • Product Training: for new staff  and refresher/New product training for existing staff members
  • Supporting any customer complaints on product issues and to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve
  • Assisting the office with supplier contact when necessary
  • Product advise to office on back ordered stock replacements
  • A main support for larger customers
  • Marketing Support
  • Technical product data collections and campaign support
  • Competitor awareness using websites & others available resources to be aware i.e. what they were selling, special offers etc
  • Tenders: To monitor websites, register for email alerts, to analyse the data, Input information on Tenders
  • Provide Sustainability Information
  • Support Account Managers during Exhibitions
  • Reporting using excel and SAPBW data extraction.
  • Telesales

Key Skills

Field Service Technician – Cambridge

STARLAB (UK), Ltd are part of a Europe-wide group specialising in liquid handling products, supplying laboratories throughout the UK. ISO 17025 Accredited for Calibration (4296) since 2010; we are known for delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join our expanding Service Team; providing the service and calibration of pipettes to our varied customer base. The successful candidate will cover various clinics in Cambridge and surrounding areas.

We service and calibrate all makes and models of pipettes both manual and electronic in accordance with ISO policies.

Overview of the Role:

To service, repair, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance of pipettes both in-house and at customer sites; always ensuring Caltech (Service Department) operates to ISO 17025 standard within our industry.

The role will involve travelling to client locations throughout the UK and the need for overnight stays may be required.

To work towards targets agreed in conjunction with the Service Manager. To make positive contributions within the team. Administration support is also expected.

The Ideal Candidate:

Ideally you will live in Cambridge and have experience of working in a laboratory or service environment and will have experience of the use of pipettes; however, this is not essential as full training is provided.

Key Duties:

  • To act as an ambassador of STARLAB (UK), Ltd at all times
  • To ensure Caltech operates to the ISO 17025 standard
  • To have full understanding of the laboratory’s Quality Manual
  • Clean and service pipettes to the approved standard
  • Maintain records of pipettes serviced
  • Ensure correct health and safety practice is adhered to
  • Responsible for equipment needed for on-site calibration i.e. pipette spares, paper etc
  • Ensure targets are achieved
  • Regular meetings for feedback within the group

You must have:

  • The ability to work with very small components
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good customer service skills
  • The ability to learn and handle technical enquiries, speaking with customers and problem-solving
  • Be PC literate in Microsoft products including Word, Excel & Outlook with the willingness and ability to learn bespoke software
  • Reliable and flexible
  • A good basic level of English and Maths
  • The ability to work alone as well as part of a team
  • Have a full driving licence
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Overview of job function

Responsible for the smooth running of stock control for STARLAB UK. Regular communication with Sales Manager, Suppliers and Warehouse is crucial to the effective running of the section.

Key Duties

  • Stock maintenance and monitoring.
  • Monitor and maintain stocking levels, using yearly trends and Materials Resource Planning (MRP).
  • Weekly updates/meetings on out of stock products and due dates.
  • Analysis of new product.
  • Responsible for stock movements and adjustments.
  • Telephone support.
  • Complaint resolution.
  • Dealing with supplier queries.
  • General office duties.
  • Holiday/sickness cover.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Proven experience in a similar Purchasing role.
  • Advanced Excel.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • A “Think out of the box” approach.

Desirable

  • Solid working knowledge of SAP in a similar role.
