As a UKAS-accredited laboratory (4296), we guarantee that every calibration is performed by skilled professionals using validated methods and precise, traceable measurements in strictly controlled environments. UKAS is an internationally recognised accreditation body and UKAS accreditation ensures full metrological traceability of data.
We calibrate all makes and models of pipettes and repeat dispensers, manual and electronic.
For UKAS calibrations, you can opt to use our convenient mail-in service with a quick turnaround, or we can come to you and service on-site.
DAkkS accredited calibration is also available via mail-in servicing only. Please enquire for more information.
All pipettes must be accompanied by a completed and signed UKAS Decontamination Declaration!
As Found calibrations provide a check of the current performance of your pipette, enabling you to validate previous work. No adjustment or servicing is performed. As Found is purely a statement of how the instrument is performing.
All levels include the following:
As-Found calibration carried out at manufacturer's, ISO8655 or your own specification (as selected on the Decontamination Declaration)
Calibration Date Sticker to show the next calibration due date (if defined on the Decontamination Declaration)
A Certificate of Calibration showing a pass or fail based on the target specification*
Calibration is carried out with a specified number of readings at set volume points, depending on the service level chosen. UKAS calibration levels are as follows:
10 readings at 3 volumes
(min, mid & max volumes)
10 readings at 2 volumes
(min & max volumes)
10 readings at 1 volume
(fixed volume)
5 readings1) at 3 volumes
(min, mid & max volumes)
5 readings1) at 2 volumes
(min & max volumes)
5 readings1) at 1 volume
(fixed volume)
1) IMPORTANT: By selecting 5 readings per volume it is with the understanding that it will NOT permit a conclusion on conformity with ISO8655. The minimum requirement for conformity is 10 readings.
*If your pipette is not within the target specification, we can perform a Service and As Returned UKAS Calibration, if this is requested beforehand on the Decontamination Declaration.
Service and UKAS calibration.
With a Service & UKAS Calibration, adjustment and servicing is undertaken. The purpose is to confirm post-calibration accuracy. It does not determine if the pipette was providing correct measurements during its last period of use.
All levels include the following:
Pipette dismantled, cleaned internally, inspected, leak tested and, if necessary, worn parts replaced
Pipette externally cleaned
Calibration carried out at manufacturer's, ISO8655 or your own specification (as selected on the Decontamination Declaration)
If necessary, your pipette will be adjusted to comply and recalibrated to meet the required specifications
Certificate of Calibration showing the results and any spare parts fitted
Calibration Date Sticker to show the next calibration due date(if defined on the Decontamination Declaration)

UKAS pre & post calibration.
Pre- and post-calibrations document thepipette’s accuracy before (“as-found”) and after (“as-left”) any adjustments or servicing.
