“We need to take responsibility. It requires self-reflection, engagement and the will to make a change for a sustainable future. In our business we need to constantly look and provide for better solutions that direct us to take the next step for being a role model in our industry.”
Klaus Ambos, CEO Starlab International
The future is green.
When you take one step forward in the lab, you should not have to take two steps back where environmental protection is concerned. Only when scientific progress is also sustainable, will it unfold long-term benefits for all of us in terms of climate issues.
That is why we at Starlab have been thinking about sustainability for some time, with long-term corporate planning and durable products. We have already succeeded in saving plastic with our TipOne® pipette tip system. However, the truth is that we all still have a long way to go towards a fully sustainable laboratory.
For you and for our planet, our mission is to continually look for intelligent, climate-friendly products and processes. Together with you, we will strive to achieve our goal of becoming a thoroughly green company. Our promise along the way: to continue to take steps wherever we can - whether large or small - to reduce our impact on the environment.
Sustainability is at the heart our business culture, and we hope this will help us attract the best talent. Through this mission, Starlab will incentivise and reward ecologically sustainable behaviour in everyday business tasks, and we will actively support our employees’ engagement with sustainability initiatives in the local or wider communities.
Let's make this possible together!
A certified company.
Starlab are an ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified company. Starlab was one of the first UK companies within its sector to be awarded the ISO14001 for its Environmental Management System, this commitment has now extended to all the Starlab sites across Europe.
Becoming ISO14001 certified was a natural progression from our ISO9001 Quality Management System to meet the increasing demand on our environment, and these are now integrated at the Starlab Group. Taking care of our environment and preventing us from causing negative impacts on the environment are two of the most important challenges facing businesses today. At Starlab, we care enough to reduce our environmental footprint having a detailed list of Environmental Aspects with associated Environmental Impacts which we constantly work on reducing.
At Starlab, we have a culture of reducing, reusing or recycling with a comprehensive recycling programme for our TipOne® product. We monitor the resources we use such as gas, electricity, water and fuel required to run our business and have a goal to reduce our CO2 emissions.
Our green mission.
